This is an excellent little local waterfront park for dog walks, short hikes and launching kayaks and canoes. This Anne Arundel County property sits on the shore of the Magothy River, which leads to the Chesapeake Bay.
A former family farm, Spriggs still has the home intact and boarded up, although the two-car garage is open, with no doors, and kids or teens use it as a hangout – not that they are allowed to this but obviously do it anyway. There is a convenient porta-potty and also a locked gate with combination for kayakers who need to drive to the water from the upper parking area.
While walking there, we encountered three other groups of dog walkers. This park would be a nice place to visit for a family with small children.
