On Tuesday, December 3rd, my dog Tucker and I took to the road and searched for two interesting dog walks. I need these dog walks just as much as he does, so when possible, we try to mix it up and make it an adventure. The destinations I decided on were two very different parks: Homeport Farm Park and Wootons Landing Wetlands Park in Anne Arundel County.
Homeport Farm Park

This small park is gated with a combination lock, but the combination is easy to obtain from the county web page (below). There is a path for walking and then a partially paved and gravel foot path down to the water for kayaking.

Wootons Landing Wetlands Park

This park is very large and the main loop is about 1.7 miles. This is a wide, grassy and flat path, great for a dog walk or a jog. I didn’t see the kayak launch spot while we were there, but plan to go back with my kayak to explore this area. There is a combo lock here too, but just for the road to the kayak launch. The Patuxent River is a curvy and long waterway up in this part of the county.
